In the UK, a competition has launched to design a new life sciences hub at a leading university. Planned to complete in 2028, the new centre will tackle antimicrobial resistance around the world. Occupying a waterfront site, the centre will be the first new building to open as part of ongoing plans for the location's wider redevelopment.

In the US, a city is seeking to revitalise a corridor which serves as the area's primary gateway. The authorities wish to refresh the area to better reflect the local community and the site's natural beauty. A new city hall complex will be created, while an eventual public-private partnership with a master developer will lead to the transformation of the existing city hall site.

Our research team has also identified many other opportunities, just some of which are highlighted below.

In the UK, a design team is sought for a memorial to select a team to work with a community to design a ‘bold, fitting and lasting memorial’ to remember 72 victims who lost their lives in a devastating fire in 2017. Proposals will offer a ‘peaceful, sacred space for individual and communal remembrance and reflection’.

In Europe, a consulting service is required for an analysis of the development potential of a football stadium. A profound transformation is planned through the expansion and renovation of the stadium and its surroundings, in order to meet the highest FIFA standards. The option of creating a multipurpose arena model venue is also being proposed, which would exceed FIFA requirements.

Elsewhere in Europe, a competition has launched for the design of two accessible tram stops. The competition also aims to establish a barrier-free tram stop typology that will be implemented at all future above-ground stops in the entire area. Three architectural practices have been invited by the organizer to participate, with twelve more to be chosen through the current application process.

In Australia, the state department intends to undertake a request for tender to engage a suitably qualified lead consultant for the design, fabrication and installation of a holocaust education and interpretation centre. Located in a heritage listed building, all approvals for spatial additions must align with the requirements of the project’s federally supported deed of agreement.

In France, a tender has launched for the creation of a cultural centre, which is set to provide a new home for the town's music and dance conservatoire, alongside an exhibition hall. A new library will also be included to replace the existing library, which will be demolished in order to make way for the new facility. The estimated budget allocated to the work is 8.54m EUR.
