IDOM to provide top-class experience for football fans

Top flight football team Villarreal CF have revealed designs by Tenderstream member IDOM for the renovation of the club’s Ceramica stadium, the largest refurbishment in its history. The new design will provide the stadium with architectural unity, while improving the quality of the facilities in order to provide a memorable experience for fans at the football grounds.

The construction of a new corner stand, between the existing Preferencia and Fondo Sur stands, will enclose the stadium in its entirety. A new roof will house all the infrastructure for television broadcasts, while adding two 21×7 meter video scoreboards (300 sq m of screen), a public address system, new LED sports and architectural lighting and the installation of a Sky-Cam.

Inside, a multipurpose room at the top of the Fondo Sur stand will provide views of the playing field and the square behind the stadium. The restaurant will be refurbished, and a new space created for the Villarreal CF museum. A commitment has been made to renewable energies, with the installation of photovoltaic panels on the roof, supplying the stadium with electricity.

The works are expected to be completed by the end of December 2022.
