11th Feb 2021: shortlist announced for National Gallery Victoria installation contest
The Architecture Commission is a two-stage open competition run by the National Gallery Victoria (NGV) in Australia, calling for architects and multi-disciplinary teams to consider innovative ways to activate NGV’s Grollo Equiset Garden with a thought-provoking temporary installation. Over 100 submissions were received for the 2021 contest, which were reviewed by an expert jury. The shortlisted teams are:
• Aileen Sage Architects with Michaela Gleave
• Common
• MDF Architecture
• Simulaa with Finding Infinity
• Taylor Knights & James Carey
These five submissions will be further developed and refined in Stage Two. The winner will be announced at the 2021 Melbourne Design Week and will be commissioned by the NGV to complete the design development and delivery.
