Butterfly-inspired design to take flight at Orchard Road

Tenderstream member PLP Architecture has released designs for Park Nova in Singapore, a signature luxury residential tower which is being developed by Shun Tak Holdings and delivered in collaboration with P&T Group.  Located on a desirable garden site along the iconic Orchard Boulevard, the biophilic enclave embraced with vertical planting rises above surrounding greenery, with a design that focuses on sustainable urban living. The building is expected to receive Singapore’s ‘Green Mark’ Gold rating in recognition of its environmental credentials.

The design of Park Nova was inspired by the history and context of the local area, which was once home to orchards and is now established as one of Singapore’s top tourist destinations with a thriving green character. Drawing on the form of a butterfly, the building is elevated above the tree canopy on slender columns. Gently undulating floorplates, arranged into three wings, maximise natural shading and ventilation.

Fifty-four spacious residences, ranging from 2 to 5 bedrooms, are arranged across 21 storeys. Floor-to-ceiling windows bathe the apartments in light and provide 270-degree panoramic views across the city’s skyline. Private and entertaining spaces connect to the planted terraces and gardens, connecting the outdoor environment with the comforts of home whilst creating a natural barrier to noise and air pollution. A landscaped raised ground level houses a pool, jacuzzi, meditation deck, concierge and residents’ pavilion. On the fourteenth floor, a ‘Sky Terrace’ includes a gym, lounge, private function room, together with additional outdoor space.
